History

In the first quarter of the year 2015, the idea of establishing a Christian Television was birthed. The long awaited dream came to fruition on 7th May, 2016 when Maranatha TV started its test transmission. The station was then officially launched on 11th June, 2016 after which it went into full operation.

Beginning with one small control room as a Christian television station in the greater Accra region, Nungua-Addogonno, Accra-Ghana, Maranatha TV has exploded into becoming a world-wide broadcasting station helping to bring the Gospel to the world.

Many trials and tests came through the months, but our obedience, commitment, and confidence in God has secured and stabilized Maranatha TV Station as a powerful voice for the Gospel. It is an integral part of faith-based television network, taking advantage of the latest cutting edge technology and peak performance transmission capabilities. With unusual competence, and an emphasis on integrity, the dynamic leadership of the station has achieved success across the board.

Few years ago, one could have reasonably suggested that Bishop Noble Francis Afotey Odai was stretching his imagination when he announced his intension of establishing a television station. Today, no one can dispute that Maranatha TV is one of the most powerful and watched television channel and ministries in the world. Moreover, it goes beyond the bounds of broadcasting in its mission to reach the world with a message of hope from the Bible. Also broadcasts news, sports, family entertainment, and religious programming by satellite to a potential audience of over 200 million people in Ghana, Africa and the world at large.
